...thank you for visiting my website, I invite you to read on to gain an understanding of hypnosis and hypnotherapy and what it can do for you.

  • Ever feel that if you had more confidence in yourself you could enjoy doing all the things you want to do, need to do, and ought to be able to do,

like public speaking, going to the dentist, driving, socialising, better sex, flying, etc.

  • GAIN powers of concentration and focus- sports performance, martial arts, study, exams.
Learn to relax and gain clear thinking.
  • Panic Attacks - an overwhelming feeling of panic coming from ‘out of nowhere’ usually not associated to, or reactive to any particular stimulus”. Quite often clients just don’t know what is happening to them, anxiety builds in anticipation of the next “attack” for this is what it seems like to those experiencing these debilitating feelings. (See Testimonials)
  • Trauma - An overpowering and painful emotional response to an event(s) seen, heard, experienced by client. This can prevent clients from leading normal lives, feeling constant or fluctuating anxiety, often affecting the body's ability to function normally. Hypnotherapy and NLP, can help to release this anxiety, thus gaining freedom from the emotions related to the event. You cannot change what you have experienced in life, but the emotional response to it can be changed. (See Testimonials)
  • Eliminate bad habits – free yourself from unwanted bad habits, smoking, gambling, etc.
  • Learn to relax and gain clear thinking - overcome irrational thoughts, see things in their correct perspective.
  • Learn to assert yourself - speak up for yourself.
Assertiveness is used to describe a way of communicating with others our feelings, thoughts and beliefs in an open, honest manner without confrontation, gently but powerfully. It is an alternative to being either aggressive where we abuse other people’s rights, or to being passive where we abuse our own rights leaving ourselves open to become victims.
Effects of being unassertive can lead to a loss of self esteem.
By being more assertive you can improve your sense of identity, confidence and thus self esteem.

Being assertive leads to a reduction in tension because you are no longer worried about upsetting others, you gain respect for yourself and others as you gently and powerfully state your needs.
As well as one on one consultations, small group classes are available.
  • Improve your health - how you think, can and does have an affect on how your body functions. Listen to what your body is communicating to you, symptons are a powerful message from your body that there may be unresolved feelings that need to be acknowledged and addressing these feelings is very ofter the road to improving your health.
Do we create our own ill health? Do unspoken emotions create dis-ease or inbalance within us affecting the delicate balance that the body requires to maintain wellness, excellent health? What part do emotions play in health? e.g. if you feel hurt and do not deal with that hurt positively, the unrepaired hurt may lead to illness. Illness is the body’s way of telling you something needs to be faced up to, and addressed.
Note: It is important to first seek professional medical advice to clarify any organic physical symptoms that may be contributing to ill health.
    (See Testimonials)
  • Gain relief from depression, mood disorders – feel happier more positive, more often.
Depression has been stated as “ feeling of sadness, hopelessness, loss of energy, libido, sleep disturbances, unusual / excessive weight loss or gain, anxiety, difficulty in concentrating, emotional pain” which can fluctuate but is consistent over time, may be indicative of a depressed state.
The causes of depression can be many and varied e.g. learned behaviour, environmental, physiological, and / or psychological, a particular way of thinking or how the world is viewed. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy has been found to be beneficial to shift this view. It is important to seek professional advice and CBT has brought about relief for many sufferers of depression.
    (See Testimonials)
Michael YAPKO in his book Treating Depression With Hypnosis, states “…we can rely on strong clinical evidence that, when integrated with other established therapies, hypnosis can be helpful in addressing and resolving many of the most troublesome components of depression”. (Michael D. YAPKO PhD)
Note: It is important to seek medical advice, assessment, from a trained mental health professional, to clarify any organic or psychological disturbances that may be contributing to the depressive state or conditions mentioned above.
  • Gain control over your eating habits – maintain your ideal weight, easily
Ever feel you are on a fast track of eating, eating, eating, out of control unable to stop forcing food into your mouth and body that it does not need and could be harming your health? Straining to digest? Yo yo dieting patterns, lose the weight, gain the weight again, back into that negative cycle once again. IS THIS YOU? If so, ask yourself, what are you feeding? Do you need comfort? Is it habit? Are you bored?
Maureen uses Hypnotherapy and in many cases TFT or EFT to address and release the underlying emotions, from which habit is formed, to help break this habit. Addressing the reasons why you are eating more than your body needs. When these are easily addressed, then you are on your way to a healthy motivated life style. Only a small percentage of diets have been found to be effective long term.
Maureen has developed a therapy Intuitive Weight Management Therapy, IWMT
focused on being in harmony with the body, getting “in tune with” the body, focusing on the body and it’s needs
    • Do you want to feel better about yourself and have more energy?
    • Do you want to be at and maintain the weight you desire?
    • Do you want to wear the clothes size you desire, look marvellous, feel good about yourself?
    (See Testimonials)
  • Manage and Eliminate inhibiting fears – phobias, panic attacks, personal trauma.
  • Stop Smoking - Many long term smokers have stopped smoking after just one session.
e.g. the client who was in his late 60’s, had continuously smoked for 40 years, and was smoking 35 to 40 cigarettes a day, stopped smoking permanently after one session. Many clients are ready to stop smoking immediately and do so, but sometimes there is a need to cut down first and then stop. Some clients achieve success after just one session, others need an extra session or two to kick the habit permanently. Everybody is different.
The body can be helped and supported during nicotine withdrawal to make it easier, by taking particular vitamins and herbs. This is discussed at consultation.
As an addicted smoker you can take back control and stop smoking permanently with hypnosis.
You are helped and supported with quality CD, psychological support material, self help material, visual prompts, which are all given to you at completion of your first consultation.
    (See Testimonials)

Hypnotherapy and NLP can change your perspective bringing about positive changes in your thinking.

Remember this, “problems” can quite simply be nothing more than the way you think about things, how you see things, i.e. what thought strategies you “run” in your mind.

Take a moment to imagine yourself experiencing something you really like doing, or want to do... - notice how it affects you.
now think about a situation that is frustrating - notice how it affects you.

The first step…….

Sometimes taking the first step to phone a therapist or life coach can be daunting. (many people tell me they have been thinking about it for years).

Take the first step, of a five minute telephone consultation without obligation, pick up the phone, and we’ll have a friendly chat to discuss your needs and if Hypnotherapy and NLP can assist

... first step to achieving your full potential and positive mind set

Give yourself the opportunity to:

- do all the things you want to do, need to do and ought to be able to do.

- just make the first step to break free of negative thought patterns and limiting beliefs.

Hypnotherapy is one of the most powerful tools for positive, realistic change you can ever experience.

Change your perceptions, turn how you think into a positive experience, positive actions, positive behaviour.

Why use Hypnosis?

It is natural, healthy, and chemical free.

Whilst in Hypnosis, it is so much easier for the mind to accept and make positive changes very rapidly.

Hypnosis is a powerful pathway to the unconscious.

Ever had that little voice niggling at you saying “I can’t do that”, or “I’m not clever enough to do that”, or “I don’t think I could ever do that”?.

Ever had experience of these sort of thoughts over riding what you would like to do, and stopping you from achieving what you want to do?.

Remember: whether you think you can do it, or think you can’t do it, you’re absolutely right!! - Henry Ford

Remember this: Hypnotherapy is one of the most powerful tools for positive change you can ever experience.

What is it like, how will I feel when I am in Hypnosis?

Would it surprise you that you may have already been in the state of Hypnosis several times during the day?

Have you ever been so engrossed in a reading book, or watching TV, that you forget everything else?

And although you are aware of what is happening around you, it doesn’t intrude or bother you?

When this happens you are in an altered state of awareness...
And that’s Hypnosis.

Or maybe you’ve driven your car along a familiar route, maybe to work, and been surprised when you’ve become aware you’ve reached your destination?

That’s an altered state of awareness - day dreaming.
And that’s also Hypnosis!

What happens when you come along for Hypnotherapy?

Establish a comfortable and purposeful relationship.

Goal setting is the next important step

A treatment plan is formulated to help you achieve those goals.

Then with your permission, I take you through a simple and fascinating exercise to show you just how powerful is your unconscious mind.

Clients at this stage are usually very relaxed and looking forward to “going into Hypnosis” feeling safe, and able to communicate with me through ideomotor signals.

And as you feel relaxed, and very safe, you are then free to
experience the tranquil and peaceful state of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy.

When you are in Hypnosis your sense of hearing is heightened, so you will hear what I am saying to you, and you are always in control.

Clients quite often say after Hypnotherapy, words similar to “I’ve never felt so relaxed, I could hear you, but I just let go and it felt so relaxing, I felt so safe”.

Accepting the Hypnotic state is a choice, a choice that can bring you enormous benefits in your life.

Each Client is uniquely different in their needs and desires.

Although Clients may come to my clinic for an identical reason, e.g. stop smoking, a flexible approach is used - for some clients I use only Hypnotherapy, for others the powerful combination of Hypnosis, NLP, EFT, which can bring rapid transformation.

The state of readiness, together with an acceptance of Hypnotherapy, brings SUCCESS.

I have a belief that each person has within them the ability and resources to expand and develop, achieve their desired goals, the drive towards self actualisation.

Hypnotherapy helps to awaken that inherent ability to remove the obstacles that block this growth process.

I ask for a commitment of two visits. Many people have resolution in two or three visits, a few in one visit. For deep long standing issues, up to ten visits may be required.

What is HYPNOTHERAPY?

It is an altered state of awareness. When used therapeutically to correct an existing symptom or problem, it by-passes the critical factor of the conscious mind. It is similar to meditation or deep relaxation, but different because it is goal focused on a specific outcome, e.g. stopping smoking, stopping bad habits.

When agreed upon therapy is given to you in this special and powerful mental state by a trained and qualified therapist, it opens the pathway to the unconscious mind, changing negative thought patterns and beliefs, changing, opening, widening perceptions, thus facilitating desired behaviour change.

Rules of the Mind
1. Every thought and idea creates a physical reaction.
2. What is expected will be realized.
3. Imagination is more powerful than knowledge when dealing with your own mind or the mind of another.
4. Opposing ideas cannot be held at one and the same time. Once an idea has been accepted by the subconscious mind, it remains until it is replaced by another idea.
5. The longer the idea remains, the more opposition there is to replacing it with a new idea.
6. An emotionally induced symptom tends to cause organic change if persisted long enough.
7. Each suggestion acted upon creates less opposition to successive suggestion.
8. When dealing with the subconscious mind and its functions, the greater the conscious effort, the
less the subconscious response.

The subconscious mind is programmed for example, to smoke cigarettes, or over eat by consistent use, (habit). When a person decides to stop smoking, or eat less, a conflict arises between the two minds and it is the subconscious that always wins, for it overrides the conscious mind’s decision, e.g. to stop smoking or to over eat.
The person then goes to see a Hypnotherapist because they think they have a weak will. The truth of the matter is that it has nothing to do with weak willpower but has everything to do with the programming of the subconscious mind. Now if the subconscious mind were re-programmed, we would then have a position where the conscious mind and the subconscious mind are in agreement. When the two minds are in agreement, the desired changes take place almost immediately. Now the way to re-programme the subconscious mind is to talk to it directly by bypassing the conscious mind. There is only one way to bypass the conscious mind and talk directly to the subconscious mind, and that is when the person is in hypnosis. In fact, the bypassing of the conscious mind, and talking directly to the subconscious mind, is the one and only reason why we use hypnosis. Thus, it can be seen that hypnotherapy is the name given to the giving of suggestions directly to the subconscious mind.

HEALTH

CR: North Shore
For years and years I went everywhere trying to get some relief, I tried everything, and in desperation as a last resort went to see a hypnotherapist. I wasn’t really sure about hypnotherapy, but I was amazed at what came out during hypnosis, long forgotten things, and I’d never connected them to the bowel problem I had, Irritable Bowel Syndrome they call it. I am now going to the toilet regularly and my whole body feels much calmer, it’s funny.

(Initials withheld) : Eastern Suburbs
My health has improved immensely, and my Doctor is happy with the improvements in my health, I am eating less and healthy food and it is helping the Diabetes. I’ve got more energy to exercise now and I enjoy going for walks. I never realized how hypnotherapy could help this condition.
